My worst day ever?? ;-)

On Friday night I had the strangest dream, I dreamed that I had a terrible day. I was someone else, got into fights with people, found out my boyfriend had an affaire (with a guy!) etc etc. During this dream kept thinking: “ I’m going to call this blog; “my worst day ever.”

On Saturday Sheau en I wanted to get our student pass so we went to the immigration office and asked someone where we needed to go. We were referred to a very long queue when it was finally our turn the women told us we were in the wrong line. This happened about 3more times only to find out (after 2hours of waiting in total) that they don’t handle the student passes on Saturday’s. I found out that on the paper it said “you can come any weekday”. Stupid us, we thought they meant any day of the week.

Lesson1 for today: READ CAREFULLY!!

We decided to just walk around, but it started to rain very badly so we went in to a big shopping mall, walked around and then went back home. At home I saw an invitation to all exchange students inviting us to go out. They would meet at the staff club to get some drinks and then go out. He added that on the map it was B4 so we looked at B4 and saw the recreation centre. We decided that we would go but first get some food at our canteen. The canteen was closed. So we thought we just walk to the recreation centre (it was still raining) on our way we saw a canteen and decided to get some food first. When we arrived at the recreation centre it was 45 minutes after we were suppose to meet and the whole thing was closed. We thought they had already left. Luckily it had stopped raining. We went home and when I checked my e-mail I found out that we were at THE WRONG PLACE. We went to the recreation centre instead of the staff club!!!

Lesson 2: or 1) I cannot read
or 2) I do not learn from my mistakes
or 3) when I have a bad dream I should stay in bed.

One thing I noticed here is that the snails are VERY big, because of the rain we saw a lot of them. To show you how big they are we took a picture of a little snail and put it on top of the big one. You can see the result underneath.

yesterday not a lot happened, we woke up late did some homework we still had to do for ours school in NL and then went out to dinner with Noor’s cousin (Noor is a good friend of mine). It was very nice.

Today I was suppose to start my first class, so I was on time (really) and after waiting there for 15 minutes with two other exchange students we found out this class does not start until next week. So we went home and I thought I would read a bit and then we would go to the mall. I read for maybe three hours, I could not put the book away (de vliegeraar). I am going to continue reading now.

Oh btw I thought living on the 3rd floor was bad, here I stay on the 5th!!!! and there are stairs everywhere!!!

Singapore sweet Singapore (05-01-08)

Hi everyone,

I left yesterday to study in Singapore for 4 months. The first thing that happened was that the flight was delayed and therefore we (Sheau and me) almost mist our plane in Hong Kong, luckily we were just in time. Unfortunately our luggage wasn’t ;-(.

Sheau’s aunty picked us up from the airport, she and Sheau’s uncle helped us find everything on campus.

Our room is Ok, there was nothing there not even pillows etc but it was clean. Even the public showers and toilets were pretty clean!!! Because we could not do anything without our luggage and we needed a lot of stuff Cecilia (Sheau’s aunt) and Yong Zhun (Sheau’s uncle) took us SHOPPING and out to DINNER they brought us home and waited with us for our luggage. Sheau’s family is REALLY nice to me!!

We had to wait until after midnight before our bags got here and we could finally take a shower. I never thought I could enjoy a public shower as much as I did yesterday.

To describe my first day in a nut shell: luggage?, warm, GREAT people, fun, tired.

Although I will be living in Singapore for the next couple of months, my home will stay in Amsterdam. So instead of saying; “home sweet home” I’ll call it “Singapore sweet Singapore”.
